Was able to land on it and then I called my bro if he wanted to join. He was able to do it while I was locked behind the first door then posted about it.

Weapon will stop working and then game will crash when trying to do the derelict freighter at the end of expedition. edit: I just read in another thread that playing in first person mode while aboard the derelict freighter might prevent the issue.
