I have owned the G30 the longest, just picked up the G29 (have only put 67 rounds through it). I shoot both okay and enjoy them. Both lose velocity because of the 3.77 barrel so keep your rounds on target.Oct 23, 2014 · If I could get a 30SF slide/barrel for about $300 it would be worth considering. Although if I could swap my 29SF for the 30SF, I could get the 10mm LW barrel for only $130 to accomplish my objectives. The 30S is nice but does not have any conversion barrels for the high powered rounds. LW makes a 9mm barrel for the 20 but not for the 29 or 30. The drop safety feature of this gun controls the firing pin from moving forward without pulling the lever and trigger. In that case, a Gen4 mag with the added mag catch notch for left-hand service is required; something the earlier Gen3 30/30SF mags lack (see attached photo). This is the little nubby spring loaded tabs used when stripping. Installed on the 27 no problem, but when I replaced on the 30sf the slide would not retain on the lower.
