Pete, I would recomend checking the oil level and pull a sample with a large straw which can be dribbled on a white paper towel. I would do this immediately after the unit has been turning at max speed for a few minutes, allow the pto to stop all motion and shut off the tractor and catch a sample. Look for signs of metal flakes and milky oil.
