I'm recently purchased my 1995 Vulcan 800. I had no problems riding it back to my house and even letting a friend on it to learn how to ride. After that, we turned the bike off to chit chat and we couldn't get it start back up. Upon closer inspection it seems there is a hose that came loose. It has an aftermarket exhaust system and i have no idea if it was properly jetted or not to match the exhaust but my father has had this bike for a couple years now and has never had a problem till now. When engine is started the rear cylinder doesn't fire consistently. A couple things that'll wake up the 800 I've done are to debaffle the stock pipes, and Grampsized the air filter housing, see link below. Great tips on here. You need to check the voltage at the fan when the coolant is cold and when its hot, and. you need to check the resistance of the temp sensor with cold and hot coolant. It's a '99 VN800A with Cobra exhaust. I did the Russian Wolf EPA mod, and also drilled out the plug covering the air idle mixture screw.

Bought a brand new Z750 and the neutral finder doesn't work worth a S*^t. I was very surprised that the same feature from the same manufacturer could be so different.
