Personally, I try to avoid a full carb rebuild and have found that 9 times out of 10, simply pulling the float bowl and cleaning out any debris will resolve most carb issues. It's also telling if you find any junk in there. It takes about 10 minutes and is very easy to do.This John Deere E100 needed a carbCleaning carTook the top off the carb and bowl was clean. Float was 1/4" below top of carb. Removed the float to check the needle and that behaved fine. It is the fiber float but it was riding smoothly and did not seem to be making contact with the bowl. The holes in the Idle jet are clear.
