You might get it in two. the 2nd and 3rd exotic glaive patterns come from wellspring. it should show on the tooltip now that you have completed the 1st exotic glaive. you can get the pattern on any character - but the drop chance is low. Yeah it's a horrible system.
RNG means you could get 5 exotics in a row or run 30+ without one, and on an infinite timescale it all evens out. There was someone that did a bunch of Lost Sector runs and it seems that Legend lost sectors have a 25% chance while Master lost sectors have a 33.33% chance. If you stop you won't ever get it. Its rng.I got lucky on Vex and 1K though, second completion for them both. Every so often when I'd think about the other two Exotic Glaives, I'd go to the Enclave's bulletin board and try and get the quest on other characters. The Titan glaive (imo as a warlock main) is by far the best, with the Warlock glaive close behind, but once you see the Hunter glaive, you'll see that "best exotic glaive" isn't a high bar to clear. Then compare them to the legendary glaives.
