Ds2 best weapon.
I personally use a Lightning infused Priest Chime for Miracles, arguably second only to the Dragon Chime, but with the huge benefit of being obtainable much earlier on. As for weapons, probably anything with do, this is DS2 after all, where just getting the base stats for a weapon and raising the infusion stat works perfectly.

No armor in the game is going to protect you from all of that. Some light robes with high elemental defense like the Chaos Robes or Black Witch Robes can help a bit. To dodge the giant swipe, roll left under it. You'll wind up right behind him. To dodge the Great Balls of fire, roll backwards and look for a gap. 16.

There is powestance, you need 2 compatible weapons, you need to meet 1.5x the STR and DEX requirements of the highest requirements between the 2 weapons. Both have the same awesome wide-sweep moveset. Ivory King Ultragreatsword is great for pve.
