Difference seems to be the 4796 has a different fender support while the 4988 has the tool box relocation bracket. I have the 4988 on my tractor and the fender bracket is removed completely. I will say that after removing some stumps this attachment was worth every penny I spent on it. I am waiting on the ripper I purchased to take the place of the bucket. I believe this will make stump removal a real breeze. I have a sub frame mounted Woods bh750 ( 7 1/2 foot dig) on my Kubota B7100. It is a good fit/combination. I am not sure of how much it weighs. I would guess in the 800# range. I have front wheel weights to offset some of the backhoe weight and the hoe is mounted very close to the tractor.
