I wanted to know if there was a constant voltage delivered to the ECM Leads at the intake heater relay? With the key in the on position, I have 12 volts showing at both of the intake heater really positive terminals. Once the Wait to start light goes out, there is a voltage of 3.55V maintained until several seconds after the key is turned off.
The heater relay is located on the driver side of the engine on top of the intake manifold. The check engine light is probably on because you unplugged the sensors on the intake when you removed it. The remote start is disabled any time the check engine light is on. The cycling is normal I think until the truck warms up.
Mar 29, 2012 · banyon. If the grid heater was on you would see the draw on the amp meter. Keep a test light in the truck with you & when it comes on see if the grid solenoid is getting power. It should have power to one side but not to the grid itself. The intake air sensor is the one at the air cleaner.

I have tested the relays (solenoids) now trying to test the actual grid heater just need to know how many ohms resistance should the element have. I know there is power to the heater just need to test the heater to make sure it is working correctly. Thanks for your time.

Try disconnecting the main power cable for the relay instead. The relay will still work. Just no longer supply power to the grid heater. I see no sensors for the grid heater circuit.
