Im not really sure what the issue is here. Anyone could get proficiency with thieves tools and/or sleight of hands in table top 5e. Its the expertise reliant talent and stacking dex that made rogues really consistently great at it. Im not sure how that changes in BG3. And rogues were *never required for dungeon delving.
