Guess that depends on what you're using, although the Zinogre LBG, Despot's Wildfire, is probably the more common Normal one to use since it also has Rapid Fire Slicing in addition to Rapid Normal 2. I was gonna suggest Angbata11, but he was slowly dis-interest in MHR after awhile. I caught him previous update before and he made a lot of good LBG builds suggestions. He said that Elemental Pierce Ammo's are the strongest builds currently if done correctly and aimed with precision. I did try his build and it was solid, but its ultra risky.
Pierce element ammo is objectively worse outside specific speedrunning applications on certain (long) monsters. Its much harder to build for, it loses effectiveness on smaller/faster monsters (and even on larger/longer monsters it often enters crappier hitzones as it pierces), and iirc it only gets 2 shots instead of 3 from rapidfire so you're only getting 1.4x damage at best instead of the 2 ...
