I shot 1 male elk from the permanent wooden hunting stand in the north east corner of this hunting area last year which check off "1/2 complete". There are no animals, no need zones, or tracks west of the river - ever - it's a dead area. There are mallards in the river and few whitetail near it as well but no trace of elk.
