I'd use something like the Florentine for sure. And depends if you have converge, I'd recommend a Slowhand or an Interfacer for one slot. Florentine will slag, and if you use antagonist it'll slag as well so you'll have that covered for when you're on cooldown, for grenades, either singularity or something that has an area effect like storm front or chain lightning, imo.
At this point your essential skills are cloud kill, ruin, converge, wreck, and reaper which are all going to contribute to your DPS in a huge way. imo Maya is the best mobbing character and can survive UVHM without any unique or legendary gear. I have multiple Maya saves, and alternate frequently between builds. I use a Scorn build most, but go SS for speed runs. SS downsides are pretty badly overblown, most likely because people frequently pair it with a Legendary Binder. The extra Suspension boost makes it more painful when the orb gets weird. I prefer to use it with L Siren or L Cat.Kalli's Chroma Build. As you can guess, my build relies on the Chroma. Its 5 projectiles (10 if twin) for 3 ammo cost (6 if twinned). It does a heavy amount of damage which is simply boosted by your own passives and class mods to ridiculous numbers. Key Skills to focus on: Heavy Hitter, Accelerate, Suspension, Quicken, Reaper, Converge, Void ...Breakneck Banshee is a fun class mod with the rough rider shield. Blurred Trickster with +6 chain reaction and +5 kinetic reflection is pretty fun. With a good high fire rate weapon you can tear through enemies. Legendary Binder is amazing for mobbing, and Legendary Cat for bossing.If you want to shoot the ground and kill everything, go with Gaige. If you want to destroy everything that stands in your way, go with Salvador. If you want to create hell, go with Kreig. If you want to focus on CC and self heals, go with Maya. This is a kitchen sink build I made up originally after the second set of legendary coms came out, so one build could swap between all 4 legendary coms to be flexible for different situations. The name refers to the 2 key guns, twister and pimpernel which both take advantage of a lot of Maya's skills.With Maya, I'd say start with the healing tree first, thennn as you get up to in levels you can spread them out.
