Posted September 20, 2004. They are a great full throttle carby, but doubt they would work well on a dirt bike application. Same experience here. Great drag race carb where max airflow is important, but a real PITA carb when you have lots of throttle transitions. A well tuned FCR is really tough to beat.Jul 26, 2013 · The Lectron has been around a long time but until recently the owner was into drag racing and so the carb performed very well in that venue. The carbs have been used by a few very high level off road guys in events such as the ISDE as far back as 20 years ago. They are $300 and available and very easy to tune and don't need fiddling. Paying $1k for a lectron just isn't worth the hassle of buying one, buying the air boot adapter if required, etc. Another thing (I find a bit misleading) is that lectron makes it sound like you'll never have to touch your carb again, but the metering rod and slider gasket do need some attention periodically.Lectron uses a special metering rod system that automatically adjusts for elevation and temperature change. You get the simplicity of a carb with the benefits of fuel injection! You should do the 3x3 mod and slip on, and then rejet. It's super easy to rejet a carb. The hardest part is getting the carb out, and that's easy. Posted March 20, 2018. I have Lectron 38HV on my 2018 250X and love it. Just remember if you have a low end bog, it is lean and need to richen the needle a half turn. I'm at about 1100ft in Oklahoma. I get much better fuel mileage and no spooge unless I'm putting around following my wife on the trails.

Coming from a Mikuni I was constantly messing with jetting and the accelerator pump. Got the Lectron dialed in and haven't touched it since.
