It has the two metal fuel filters. loosen the bleed screw on the bottom one, pump the lever on the back side of the fuel pump until fuel starts to run out, close it and open the one on the top filter. 4020 3 point trouble. Hard Shifting 4020. I have a 1964 4020D with a Syncro-Range transmission. The prob is I am have a lot of grinding of the gears when shifting while stopped with the clutch pedal fully depressed. Aug 1, 2012 · Total for the rebuild was $700 but was still cheaper than buying a reman brake valve, at least according to the local JD dealer anyway. Good News....the original brake valve was rebuildable. It solved the entire problem and it stops great. No more wheel lock up. The JD 4020 is now ready to go back to work.
I mentioned couple weeks ago picking up a 4020 w/powershift at local auction. It was 1 owner but we knew the maint was very poor... Changing all fluids and filters --expecting to see some gremlins pop up. Our issue now is the powershift going forward works great. #1. Hello, While investigating the cause of poor running issues / top end noise on our 4020 we found significant wear in the valve adjuster / pushrod region on some of the cylinders. Further inspection revealed that the rear facing plug in the rocker arm shaft had shifted, cutting off the oil supply to a good portion of the top end.

But when I crack the injectors nothing. There is a 5/16 bolt on the outward side of the injector pump. If I loosen this bolt, it will run normally but shoots fuel out the hole.

I push the starter button and I hear the starter motor turning but the bendix does not engage the flywheel... or it is every so slightly engaging that it doesn't even sound like it's grinding.The problem is there is no current from key switch to starter button. If not check wiring, regulator, grounds, terminals, cables or pull generator and have it bench tested.

Sorry but I think you'll need to remove RS valve housing to resolve the 3 pt problem. 1st I'll suggest to acquire a 5000# gauge and check stand-by pressure. If stand-by pressure isn't above 1700 psi the priority valve would be blocking pressure oil to 3 pt. Stand-by pressure should be 2250 psi.disconnect all the lines & linkages.. remove the side cover on the pump, 2 flat head screws, drain.. 2 lines under the side cover, 1 is stationary & 1 rotates.. rotate engine until BOTH lines line-up & stop..
