2002 kawasaki vulcan 800 classic. ok, I've read alot of threads on this but nothing helps. My bike runs very well after warming up. The bike pops thru the carb and yes it's thru the carb. Again with starter cable removed: 1. On fuel pump side of the harness still plugged in, push red meter probe into connector to touch pin with black/yellow wire, black meter lead to touch green pin. 2. Key on, push starter button, should get 12v. and pump should run. Like.

Clutch Replacement on 2005 Vulcan 800 Classic. Bought this used bike a few weeks ago. The clutch does not grab until I am like a quarter inch away from letting the lever go. The adjustment on the clutch lever is not the culprit so it appears that the clutch is worn or there is another adjustment elswhere.Measure the pickup coil peak voltage: Remove the ignitor coupler. Connect the peak voltage tester with the + probe to the blue/white lead wire and the - probe to the green lead wire. One cylinder (the right side) refuses to idle under no choke, idles okay under full and half choke, but will stall out unless you give it some throttle w/ no choke.

It's a '99 VN800A with Cobra exhaust. I did the Russian Wolf EPA mod, and also drilled out the plug covering the air idle mixture screw. It is very likely the receiver in the hub thats bent from misalignment, this will have to be fixed to make the speedo cable spin. A quick check is to remove the cable from the hub and spin with your fingers while looking for movement on the speedo needle. If it moves, your problem is in the hub. If it dont move, it may be you cable.
