Hi again guys. I am still working on my 1977 FXE project and have a question as to how much oil should be in the primary when it has been converted to a stand alone oil supply. The clutch plates were not releasing, so i disassembled the clutch and found that the friction plates were "glued" to the steel plates with a sticky oil goo.

On other models, like the softails with the oil tank under the seat, the bike should be straight up. Even with the softails now (changed in 05), your can check it on the kickstand (dipstick was changed).

I have a 2005 heritage Softail fuel-injected 88 CI. I just changed the oil and used 20/50 royal purple. The owner's manual says oil capacity is 3.5 quarts so that is what I put in.
