Once it is out of Park, release the parking brake and let the truck roll a bit, and then re-apply the parking brake. Now you can release the lever to allow the transmission to go back to Park. Try this and see if it helps, if it does not, then you should be still covered for a warranty repair. .

Mine were not tightend to spec. Tech put on a scanner, with in 1 hour had the issue solved and tightend the eyelets to the ground bolt.Service Shifter Message. Hello! I start my truck, go to shift it to Drive and the knob won't move and the dash panel illuminates "Service Shifter". At that point I have to force the knob over to get it into gear.
