Generally recoil will feel a bit softer as the bullet wt goes up. In 9mm I am not a fan of the 115gr so it is 124gr+p or 147gr+p HST.9mm bullet is 0.355" diameter. So the area in inches is (3.14159* (.355^2))/4 = 0.099 in^2. This is the same for 115 grain, 124 grain, and 147 grain bullet.
