That doesn't really make any sense. You would want the Kerdi Board coming down to the flange, then use Kerdi Band to seal the seam between the Kerdi and shower pan flange. You would thinset the band to the Kerdi board, and use Kerdi Fix to seal it to the flange. The Kerdi membrane requires applications of thinset twice to attach the membrane and then the tiles. Liquid paint on membranes are much more user friendly. If the kit contained Kerdi board for the walls it might be more acceptable.
