my 99 vulcan 800 B is having clutch problems. it has 18,600 miles on it and the clutch pack seems to stick. i either have to throttle my motor or wait a second on two after i pull the clutch lever for the clutch to release. it makes it hard to shift at times. is there a problem and is there a fix for this problem.Diagnose the issue using the tests in the manual. I don't know how much you know about working on vehicles, but diagnose and determine an issue, don't just throw parts at it hoping to solve the problem. Possible causes of your issue: Throttle sensor. Fuel pump or blocked fuel filter. Ignition coil (s) or igniter.2. The clutch setup could be a cheap one and you are now seeing or witnessing the cheapness of it. 3. Maybe a part in the clutch system has a fault in it. 4. Due to how you ride, probably wore out the clutch quicker. 5. Gear lever is an aftermarket part and isnt correctly installed or lined up properly.Bandit101. If the 100 ohm resister at the ignition switch was bad or removed, it still would not prevent power from going to the ignition and lights. It just reduces voltage to the igniter to turn it on. If you have no power when the switch is turned on, start by checking voltage on the white wire at the switch, should be battery voltage.
1996 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic Problems. Where to begin. THe bike idles fine. When you give it gas, it starts to backfire and loses power. While riding, it runs fine at low RPM after you shift. Half way up through the gear though, it falls on its face. I know the back cylinder is where the problem is.

To quiet down the final drive I changed to synthetic gear oil (Valvoline 75-115), it makes one big difference. OK, read all the threads about this. I picked up a used 2019 Vulcan 900 last fall. It's really smooth up to about 60 mph. At 70 the vibration is significant on the floor boards (classic LT). I have watched all the youtube riders I can find and none of the bikes seem like it's a problem like I have. It only has 1400 miles on it.
