The whine happens even with all accessories off, with the radiator fans off, and no matter what gear I am in. The whine seems to be coming from around the serpentine belt area.

Just developed a whine in the engine that occurs when starting the truck, during idle (in park and in gear), and acceleration. You can definitely hear it when you are in park and give it some gas. It's not a high pitch squeal.....the sound reminds me of a gear driven motor but not as loud.
