M1 collectors club.

Hi from Pittsburgh, PA. I bought an Inland M1 for just over $400 last week. It shoots fine but the fun is in learning more about the rifle. The serial number on the receiver says 210287 and it seems to be from 1942 but the stock is from Bianchi circa 1960 (with thanks to Johnny Rotten for the lead). Click on the picture of the cutaway carbine at the top of this page. Then scroll the menu that appears on the left of the next screen to Commercial Carbines and click. Go to the next left side menu and click on Companies and Carbines. This will take you to the commercial makers where you will find Springfield Armory.I have been looking for parkerized M1 15 rounds magazines for my collection. What I have seen so far is cleaned up magazines with traces of corrosion, then parkerized. In no way attractive. I have been told the parkerized magazines were intented for troops in South East Asia. They should resist the humid climate better when parkerized.The paperwork indicates a direct sale to a service member in 1946. No DCM at that time. The reference of "paso" along with the APO and reference to a Pacific Army Regulation, to me says this transfer occurred in the Philippines. This Carbine was discussed on the milsurps.com website back on 6-23-17.
