IMO (having owned a P DUO and picked up a Prodigy this morning) the Staccato has better build quality. The frame and slide finish is superior, the slide to rail fitment is slightly better (slide racks more smoothly on the Staccato) and the Staccato trigger is slightly crisper and lighter. I'd put the Springfield at 95% vs the Staccato's 100%. The double stack Prodigy™ features substantial capacity. I'm no saying the prodigy dose not have room or need to improve, cause it dose. We've had three more Stacato P's come through the shop for transfer and all of them have the same amount of disco drag the gun tuber experts are in a rage about with the prodigy. That said, my prodigy has been 100% so far after around 1200 rounds.The Prodigy retails for around $1,200 and and optics ready Staccato P is $2,500. So almost double the price. To me it’s not worth it for DLC and tool steel internals. I disagree on your opinion the fit and finish aren’t night and day. Both the prodigy's were $1400 OTD at a lgs. so $1,000 savings vs the Staccato for me (for 1 Prodigy vs 1 Staccato). Of course now I want the P, cause buy all the guns.
