Just have to say a massive thank you to Microchip, following a problem with one of my ICD2's. Suddenly started getting "Invalid device " errors, then after a few minutes just didn't work any more ! Second unit still works fine.

Both devices have been reloaded with the firmware, but the top one which was showing the message now advertises itself as an RN4870 and also behaves as such - attempting to configure the 0C pin present on the '71 fails, but the 09 pin which is on the '70 but not the '71 succeeds. According to several forums, as I am using a Macbook, the advised is to use ipecmd.sh instead of jar. The erase and blank check commands return positive feedback which I assume it works, however, the programming command does not work.
