Before doing that I put a screw in one of the holes and gripped it with a small vicegrip so I would not loose the plug! Hitting the edge worked but it put the plug in the block. Now, after doing a bunch of stuff to the truck, and getting it going sort-of, I discovered two freeze plug leaks, the front and the rear (on this inline 6). So now I'm wondering, is it possible to change those plugs without removing the engine? It makes a difference.
